Restoring Brass & Copper Furniture Since 1975

Our company – Williamsburg Beds, LLC – opened for business in 1975, providing maintenance and restoration of vintage brass beds as the main part of our business. For most of that time, we’ve been located in the City of Richmond.

Today we make iron and brass furniture – mostly bed frames – and our workshop is still in Richmond. For many years our beds were available under the Brass Beds of Virginia brand, but in 2022 we branded as Worthen Custom Iron & Brass Furniture. Many thousands of our beds are in circulation, some now almost 50 years old. Owners often bring them back to us for maintenance tasks such as polishing and re-lacquering.

We repair and polish vintage metal furniture, most commonly with brass and copper finishes, though we can handle just about anything. We've fixed up beds that have survived calamities including hurricanes, floods, and unfortunate incidents with moving trucks, but most customers bring us furniture that needs to be polished and re-lacquered to restore its shine.
